Morphix8
Project Overview
Morphix8 Magazine or simply Morphix8 is a concept developed for a quarterly publication of thought-provoking insights from some of the most respected thinkers of our time. Morphix’s mission is to empower its readers with knowledge, and advocates for more collective analysis of culture, art history, and mainstream media. Challenging the standards of conventional thought and bringing readers closer to self-actualization.
Process
Morph + Fixate = Morphixate
Taken from an original word created for an English vocabulary course, Morphixate means to ponder deeply on two drastically different realities in one's mind simultaneously. Inspired by the Orwellian word "doublethink" the goal is to challenge and uncover the truths of collective cognitive dissonance in the Western world.
Graphic Toolbox
The graphic toolbox details the creative direction of the publication as well as the overview of the magazine's mission.
Target Profiles
Using Target profiles was incredibly helpful when considering the type of readers that would be subscribed to Morphix, and thus the articles and topics published. It also helps to make more intentional design decisions considering their niche tastes and interests.
Covers
Created in illustrator for the first four issues, these cover set the tone for the visual language of the publication and its covers.
Website
Created in Adobe XD, the website is an all-in-one platform where subscribers can read and learn more about the concept behind Morphix8. Offering French and English interfaces, as well as clear and accessible typography choices, the website is a carefully curated selection of the publication's greatest works.
Motion Graphics
Made for promotion of the publication's article on the human face, this motion graphic was made using Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator. It composes faces from different pieces of art history and uses the same motif as the cover of the debut issue
